# people.changes.monitor.create

> Watch a list of people you supply, by public profile URL, and get what changed about each one: a new job, a title move, a fresh certification. This stores the list of people at the provider and reports changes about them; nothing ranks or scores a person, and each delivery carries only the tracked change plus the profile fields the monitor was created with. The watched list is editable later; the track is fixed at creation. Standing spend: rented monthly at the worst case of the request: runs a month (744 divided by everyHours, rounded up) times the smaller of the list size and maxResultsPerRun times the credits per changed person for the freshness you choose: 5 at 30 days (the default), 10 at 14, 20 at 7, 50 at 3 and 150 at 1 day. 25 people at the defaults are 3,875 credits a month; at the 1-day tier, which you must ask for, 116,250. No notifications are sent; read deliveries with data.monitor.runs and data.monitor.run.read. Returns a ref for data.monitor.update and data.monitor.delete.

Effect: external_reversible. Mode: sync.

Estimated price: $0.001 for the example request.

Returns a `ref` to what it created, for follow-up calls: see [References](/guides/references).
